PHOENIX – The Phoenix Suns fall to 1-3 in last four games, including their latest loss to the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday night. Phoenix shot 39.8% from the field, the fifth-worst shooting on the season. The Suns faced a 19-point deficit midway through the third quarter and looked primed to be blown out on their home floor.

However, a late run saw Dillon Brooks and Devin Booker chop the Sixers lead to four with under a minute to go. Despite losing 109-103, head coach Jordan Ott was proud of his team’s effort and isn’t worried about the shooting.

Ott speaks postgame about loss:

Ott stated that the players had stellar looks, 97th percentile of open three-point attempt. Collin Gillespie made a three-pointer to start the game, but Phoenix would miss 18 straight for the next 20 in-game minutes. It was a miracle the lead never exploded past 20 with how poor the shooting was on the floor.

The Suns defense was impressive to hold off the 76ers from truly breaking away from the game, and Ott appreciated the team’s resilience. The 40-year-old didn’t see his players quit, and while he acknowledges the absence of Grayson Allen didn’t help, he and Phoenix didn’t make any excuses.

The franchise has two games left before the All-Star break, and Ott is ready to end the first half of the season on a strong note. The return of Devin Booker and Jalen Green before the break meant so much to him and wants to reward them with a winning the final two games.
