Cavaliers All-Star guard Donovan Mitchell will take another shot at the 3-point contest.

The NBA announced Mitchell will be among the participants in the 3-point contest on Feb. 14. Voted an All-Star reserve this season, Mitchell is also set to appear in the NBA All-Star Game on Feb. 15 at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.

In 2024, Mitchell participated in the 3-point contest won by Damian Lillard. As a member of the Utah Jazz in 2021, Mitchell participated in the 3-point contest won by Akron-born Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry.

This year’s 3-point contest field is composed of Mitchell, Lillard (Portland Trail Blazers), Devin Booker (Phoenix Suns), Kon Knueppel (Charlotte Hornets), Tyrese Maxey (Philadelphia 76ers), Jamal Murray (Denver Nuggets), Bobby Portis Jr. (Milwaukee Bucks) and Norman Powell (Miami Heat).

A two-time 3-point contest champion, Lillard hasn’t played this season because he’s recovering from a torn Achilles tendon. Booker won the 3-point contest in 2018.

Here are other players in Cavs history who participated in multiple 3-point contests: Kyrie Irving (four), Mark Price (four), Daniel Gibson (two) and Craig Ehlo (two).

Mitchell isn’t the only Cavs player scheduled to involved with NBA All-Star Game festivities. Second-year Cavaliers wing Jaylon Tyson is slated to play in the Rising Stars tournament on Feb. 13 as a member of Team T-Mac.
