CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The NBA announced tonight that Charlotte Hornets forward Kon Knueppel is scheduled to compete in the 3-Point Contest on All-Star Saturday night at 2026 NBA All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles. Coverage of the event at Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, Calif. begins at 5:00 p.m. EST and will be broadcast on NBC & Peacock.
Knueppel currently ranks 3rd in the NBA in 3-pointers made (174) and is one of two players in the NBA currently averaging 15 points per game, 5 rebounds per game and shooting at least 42% from beyond the arc along with Nikola Jokic. Knueppel is fewer than 20 3-pointers made from breaking the Hornets rookie record for 3-pointers made in a season through just 52 games played.
In a road win over Dallas on Jan. 29, Knueppel set a new franchise rookie record for 3-pointers made in a single game (8) and scored a career-high 34 points. Knueppel set an NBA rookie record with his 14th game with 5-plus 3-pointers made against Atlanta on Feb. 7. He has also set an NBA rookie record for most consecutive games with multiple 3-pointers made (16), surpassing Anthony Edwards and Jaden Ivey’s previous record of 14 games.
Knueppel has earned three-straight Kia NBA Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month awards to begin his career and owns the records for fastest player to 100 career 3-pointers made (29) and the most games in a season by a rookie with 20-plus points on 50/40/90 shooting splits (14). He is the sixth Hornet all-time to participate in the 3-Point Contest and the first since Devonte’ Graham in 2020.
