Steph Curry didn’t play in the Warriors’ 105-99 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday at Crypto.com Arena, but Draymond Green certainly tried to do his best impression.
The Warriors veteran hit LeBron James with a comical taunt after drilling a 3-pointer over the Lakers star, demanding the Curry treatment after bellowing his classic “BOOM!”
Green, of course, isn’t necessarily known for his 3-point prowess like Curry is. But on a night where Golden State missed 37 attempts from deep, the forward milked every moment during one of his two made threes — especially since it came on a matchup against his good friend.
Curry currently is sidelined with patellofemoral pain syndrome in his right knee and won’t return until at least after the NBA All-Star break, coach Steve Kerr told reporters before Saturday’s game.
Until then, maybe Green might have to supply the splashing — and his opponents better be sure to close him out.
