Devin Booker will participate in the State Farm 3-Point Contest as part of this year’s NBA All-Star festivities.
The 3-Point Contest will take place at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles on Saturday at 3 p.m. MST. It can be seen on NBC and streamed on Peacock.
The Phoenix Suns star has previously competed in the 3-Point Contest four times, winning the contest in 2018 and setting a then-NBA record score of 28 points. He last participated in 2020, finishing as a runner-up behind winner Buddy Hield. Booker was scheduled to participate in the 3-Point Contest in 2021 but missed the contest and All-Star game due to a knee injury.
Booker joins a field of competitors that includes Damian Lillard (Trail Blazers), Tyrese Maxey (76ers), Kon Knueppel (Hornets), Donovan Mitchell (Cavaliers), Jamal Murray (Nuggets), Bobby Portis Jr. (Bucks) and Norman Powell (Heat). Lillard is a noteworthy participant, as he has not played in a game this season due to an Achilles injury.
In 42 games this season, Booker has averaged 25.3 points (on 45.6% shooting), 6.3 assists and four rebounds per game, while shooting 30.7% from 3-point range.
Booker’s 3-point percentage this season is the lowest out of the 3-Point Contest participants, excluding Lillard. Portis leads the field with a 45.1 percentage.
Booker returned to the Suns lineup on Saturday after missing the previous seven games due to an ankle sprain. He scored 21 points with nine assists and grabbed two rebounds in the Suns’ 109-103 loss to the 76ers.
Booker, who was named an All-Star for the fifth time in his career, will play on one of two USA All-Star teams as part of a new Round Robin tournament that also features a World team for the All-Star Game on Feb. 15.
