Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Minnesota Timberwolves suffered a lopsided 115-96 defeat at the hands of the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday at Target Center, as Kawhi Leonard delivered a dominant 41-point performance.

The Clippers controlled the game from start to finish, building a lead that swelled to 28 points at one stage. Despite a solid 23-point effort from Anthony Edwards, the Timberwolves struggled to mount any serious comeback against Leonard’s offensive onslaught.

The loss drops Minnesota to 32-22 on the season, leaving them in sixth place in the competitive Western Conference standings. The team will look to bounce back quickly as they host the Atlanta Hawks tonight at Target Center.

In other Timberwolves news, veteran point guard Mike Conley appears set to rejoin the team after a whirlwind week of transactions. According to ESPN, Conley and the Wolves have reached an agreement in principle and are now finalizing the timing of his contract.

Minnesota traded Conley to the Chicago Bulls last week in a multi-team deal. He was subsequently moved to the Charlotte Hornets, who waived him shortly thereafter, making him a free agent.

The 37-year-old guard has been a steady presence in Minnesota over the past three and a half seasons. While his production has declined this year – averaging 4.5 points per game across 44 appearances – Conley’s veteran leadership and playoff experience remain valuable assets as the Wolves push toward the postseason.
