St. John’s makes a big jump while Gonzaga fell to No. 16 after a shocking upset loss to Portland in Andy Katz’s latest Power 37.
Here are the latest rankings:Â
1. Arizona (1): The Wildcats are 23-0 and handle every challenge.Â
2. Michigan (2): The Wolverines continue to roll in the Big Ten.Â
3. Duke (3): The Blue Devils lost at the buzzer at UNC, but the teams behind them lost as well.Â
4. Illinois (5): The Illini got clipped in overtime at Michigan State, but that’s no reason to drop them, based on what happened around them in the polls.Â
5. St. John’s (10): The Red Storm have won nine in a row and are now tied atop the Big East.Â
6. UConn (4): The Huskies lost their first game in the Big East — at St. John’s.Â

7. Houston (8): The Cougars have won four in a row, including at BYU.Â
8. Kansas (11): The Jayhawks are rolling with seven wins in a row.Â
9. Iowa State (9): The Cyclones have won five in a row.Â
10. Nebraska (7): The Huskers took care of business on the road at Rutgers.Â
11. Florida (14): The Gators have won three in a row to get back to the top of the SEC by a game.Â
12. Michigan State (12): The Spartans ended a skid by knocking off Illinois in overtime.Â
13. North Carolina (27): The Tar Heels had an epic comeback to beat Duke on a buzzer-beating Seth Trimble 3-pointer for their fifth win in a row.Â
14. Kentucky (19): The Wildcats are now in second place in the SEC, a game back in the win column of Florida.Â
15. Texas Tech (13): The Red Raiders are a game out of third in the rugged Big 12.Â
16. Gonzaga (6): The Zags were stunned at Portland but then bounced back to trounce Oregon State.Â

19. Alabama (NR): The Tide soar back into the poll with a win over Texas A&M and then at Auburn.Â
20. Indiana (20): The Hoosiers got a much-needed home win over Wisconsin in OT.Â
21. Purdue (21): The Boilermakers nearly got upset by one Big Ten win Oregon.Â
22. Iowa (31): The Hawkeyes have won six in a row and are 8-4 in the Big Ten.Â
23. Saint Louis (23): The Billikens have won 17 in a row and are trying to build an at-large resume.Â
24. Arkansas (22): The Hogs did lose to Kentucky but bounced back against Mississippi State to stay tied for third in the SEC.Â
25. Miami (Ohio) (24): The RedHawks continue to dodge every MAC team’s best shot to remain unbeaten.Â
26. Texas A&M (16): The Aggies had a rough week, losing at Alabama and to Florida, but remain tied for third.

31. Wisconsin (29): The Badgers got clipped at Indiana in a wild game.Â
32. Villanova (36): Villanova has won three in a row and look to secure third and an NCAA bid.Â
33. BYU (18): The Cougars have dropped four in a row (Arizona, at Kansas, at Oklahoma State and to Houston), but it is in the Big 12 — the best league in the country.Â
34. USC (NR): The Trojans are back in the poll with a three-game win streak that included a win over Indiana.Â
35. Utah State (33): The Aggies have won five in a row to remain tied atop the MWC with….
36. San Diego State (34): The Aztecs, who have won the last two.Â
37. Belmont (37): The Bruins remain atop of the MVC with a nine-game win streak.Â
