The Atlanta Hawks (26-28) visit the Minnesota Timberwolves (32-22) Monday. Tip-off from the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, is at 8 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the Hawks vs. Timberwolves odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Hawks lead 1-0, a 126-102 home win Dec. 31

The Hawks had a 2-game winning streak come to a halt after a disappointing 126-119 home loss to the Charlotte Hornets Saturday as 2.5-point underdogs as the Over (231.5) hit. F Jalen Johnson led the way with 31 points and 9 rebounds. Atlanta’s record against the spread (ATS) this season matches its actual record at 26-28.

The Timberwolves have lost 3 of their last 4 games, including a blowout 115-96 loss to the LA Clippers Sunday as 8.5-point favorites. Minnesota is 23-31 ATS this season.

Hawks at Timberwolves picks and predictionsPrediction

Timberwolves 120, Hawks 118

PASS.

I believe the Timberwolves will bounce back at home and get a win, but it’s tough to have enough confidence to bet them on the moneyline due to their recent struggles. The Hawks could absolutely pull this one out, but it makes more sense to bet on them to cover the spread than win outright.

BET HAWKS +6.5 (-110).

Minnesota is the better team and deserves to be favored, but 6.5 points seems a bit steep given how each team has performed as of late. The Timberwolves have failed to cover the spread in each of their last 4 games.

PASS.

I have Atlanta and Minnesota narrowly hitting the Under based off my score prediction. Neither team has been reliable in this department recently, as the Hawks have failed to hit the over in each of their last 4 games, and the Timberwolves in each of their last 2.
