Second-year Pacers wing Johnny Furphy suffered a torn ACL in his right knee Sunday night against the Raptors, the team announced Monday after an MRI confirmed the diagnosis.

The injury is virtually certain to keep him out the rest of the season and possibly early next season, as well.

Furphy, a 2024 second-round pick for Indiana out of Kansas, suffered the injury after landing awkwardly following a dunk against Toronto. As he crashed to the floor, he immediately grabbed his knee and yelled in pain.

The 6-foot-8, 21-year-old Australian has been a key piece of the Pacers’ rotation this season, playing in 35 games and starting 21 while averaging 5.1 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 18.4 minutes per contest while shooting 47.0% from the field and 32.4% from 3-point range.
