The Oklahoma City Thunder will travel on the road to face the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday. This will be the second matchup of the season between the two squads. Last time, OKC made a statement in a lopsided victory on Nov. 12.
The Thunder (40-13) have lost two in a row without Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. A duct-tape offense wasn’t enough in a 112-106 loss to the Houston Rockets on Saturday. Chet Holmgren had 17 points and 14 rebounds. Cason Wallace scored 23 points.
Meanwhile, the Lakers (32-19) have won three in a row. They had a 105-99 win over the Golden State Warriors on Saturday. LeBron James stepped up in Luka Doncic’s absence with 20 points and 10 rebounds

Hayes gets the and-one layup on the roll. Thunder call a timeout. Currently being outscored 29-15 in the frame. The offense has fallen apart and James has played like his vintage self with bully-ball and playmaking.
Williams gets to the free-throw line and then kisses the ball off the glass on a runner. Some good scoring possessions for him that the Thunder badly needed to end the half. They were ahead for most of the first half thanks to the Lakers’ poor ball security.
2Q, 7:54 left: Thunder 45, Lakers 38
Holmgren grabs the offensive rebound. Caruso knocks down the outside jumper. That forces the Lakers to call a timeout. Thunder have been hot from the outside and have created turnovers. That’s a good combination.
1Q, 4:14 left: Thunder 18, Lakers 18
Williams gets the steal-and-score on Reaves. The Thunder creating a bunch of turnovers on the Lakers once again. Reaves made up for the mistake when he fed Hayes the easy bucket. Both teams evenly matched so far.
The Thunder will start Cason Wallace, Lu Dort, Jalen Williams, Chet Holmgren and Isaiah Hartenstein. The Lakers will start Marcus Smart, Jake LaRavia, LeBron James, Rui Hachimura and Deandre Ayton.
