Bucks
New Buck Cam Thomas didn’t take long to explain why Milwaukee felt right.
After officially signing Sunday, Thomas said Monday that the opportunity came with something he hadn’t always felt elsewhere — real interest.
“The front office told me that they always wanted me, always called about me, been trying to get me here for years,” Thomas said, per Eric Nehm of The Athletic. “That definitely plays a part in your decision. I really felt wanted.”
Thomas also said conversations with Doc Rivers helped seal it, and he’s eager to play alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo, calling him an “all-time great.”
The Bucks are betting that Thomas’ scoring punch can stabilize a roster still searching for rhythm, especially with Giannis working his way back.
76ers
Philadelphia is filling its open two-way slot with Dalen Terry, per Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.
Terry’s week was a whirlwind. He was traded from Chicago to New York, flipped to New Orleans, then waived by the Pelicans, all before landing in Philly.
The former No. 18 overall pick has never quite found traction in the NBA, averaging 3.5 points in limited minutes over three-plus seasons with the Bulls. Still, the Sixers see value in his versatility and experience.
Because service time isn’t officially credited until June 30, Terry remains two-way eligible for the rest of this season. He’ll hit free agency again this summer.
Philadelphia recently promoted Dominick Barlow, opening the slot Terry now fills. He’ll join Jabari Walker and MarJon Beauchamp as the Sixers’ two-way group.
Pistons
Detroit is bringing back Isaac Jones, re-signing him to a two-year two-way deal less than a week after waiving him.
Jones, an undrafted forward out of Washington State, has spent most of the season with the Motor City Cruise, where he’s produced 15.9 points and 8.1 rebounds per game while shooting better than 55 percent from the field.
Roster shuffling around the trade deadline forced Detroit to cut him temporarily, but once the Pistons waived Dario Saric and promoted Daniss Jenkins, a two-way slot reopened.
Jones fills it, joining Tolu Smith and Wendell Moore Jr.
