With the 2026 NBA All-Star weekend a couple of days away, the weekend extravaganza will highlight the league’s best players as well as smack you in the face with all of their corporate sponsorships. It’ll be a nonstop three-day event with several events leading up to Sunday’s All-Star Game.
Despite sitting atop the NBA standings, the Oklahoma City Thunder will seldom be represented at the weekend festivities. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Ajay Mitchell were pulled due to abdominal strains. Chet Holmgren will still be part of it for Saturday’s Shooting Stars competition and Sunday’s round-robin-style tournament for his first All-Star berth.
Joining Holmgren for the trip to LA is Jared McCain. The Thunder recently acquired the 21-year-old from the Philadelphia 76ers in a buy-low move at the NBA trade deadline. He will take part in Friday’s Celebrity 3-point contest at the NBA Crossover event.
The other participants are Chicago Bears QB Caleb Williams, NBA analyst Richard Jefferson, BMX athlete Nigel Sylvester, Druski, Jake from State Farm, PlaqueBoyMax and Cam Wilder
Of course, the NBA has gone out of its way in recent years to add internet personalities to its All-Star weekend. It’s a way to attract a younger audience and grow the game. It might be odd to see McCain categorized as a celebrity, but he has quite the following on social media platforms like TikTok.

McCain is easily the favorite to win the Celebrity 3-point contest, being the only NBA player among the group. Saturday’s 3-point contest has become the biggest attraction to All-Star weekend, usurping the Dunk Contest and actual All-Star Game in the last decade.
