TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – Valentine’s Day will be extra sweet for Washburn basketball fans. Their games will be televised on WIBW-TV.
Coaches Lora Westling and Brett Ballard visited with Eye on NE Kansas ahead of the games.
Both coaches say it’s a special experience to offer their players, and another sign of the wonderful support they enjoy from the community.
The women’s game will tip-off at 1 p.m. Feb. 14 against Northeastern State University on 13.5, The 365. The men’s game against Northeastern State will tip-off at 3 p.m. on 13.1 WIBW.
Crowds will be in Pink on this date due to the “Pink Out” promotion Washburn University is doing in conjunction with Stormont Vail. The Pink Out will promote breast cancer awareness and the importance of early screening. You can buy tickets for the women’s game hereand the men’s game here.
Advisors Excel is the presenting sponsor. Former WU Broadcaster Bruce Steinbrock is helping with the Valentine’s Day broadcast. Steinbrock, who now works for presenting sponsor Advisors Excel, spent many years as the voice of the Bods.
