Keagan Smith details his best NBA player prop bet on DraftKings Sportsbook for Wednesday’s rematch between the Los Angeles Clippers and Houston Rockets.

The Houston Rockets narrowly defeated the Los Angeles Clippers last night by a 102-95 margin, but it was a hard-fought affair for both sides with some old-school basketball on display. On Wednesday, the squads face off once again on the second leg of a back-to-back heading into the All-Star break.

On DraftKings Sportsbook, Houston is an 8.5-point home favorite with -340 odds to win on the Moneyline. The game total is set very low at just 211.5 combined points.

Here is the top Clippers vs. Rockets prop bet on DraftKings Sportsbook for this matchup.

Best Clippers vs. Rockets player prop bet

Alperen Sengun under 19.5 points (-112)

Last season, Alperen Sengun was the superstar of a scrappy Rockets roster which fought its way into one of the Western Conference’s top seeds and took the Golden State Warriors to seven games in the playoffs. This year, he’s no longer the long star in town while sharing the floor with future Hall-of-Famer Kevin Durant. The pair have formed an excellent two-man game and share offensive responsibilities, but Sengun’s scoring efficiency is yet to rebound even with the best teammate of his career taking away some of the pressure from opposing defenses.

The Turkish big man has a career FG% of 51.4% across his four-and-a-half seasons, but his efficiency still remains under 50.0% for the second straight year. That’s fairly disappointing after shooting 55.3% and 53.7% from the field in his second and third campaigns, especially given that one usually expects young players to improve as they age. While he has some excellent nights, this has limited some of Sengun’s night-to-night upside.

It’s clear that the 23-year-old is beginning to feel the wear of his 45 appearances so far this season. Since January 22 over his last 11 appearances, Sengun has averaged just 18.5 PPG while shooting 45.9% overall. He did have a couple of excellent outings with 33 and 39 points over that span, but he’s only hit the 20-point mark one more time in the same sample and failed to score even 10 points in two of those games. That means he’s remained under tonight’s line of 19.5 points in eight of his last 11 contests, an unfortunately reliable hit rate for Rockets fans.

Sengun did put forth 22 points last night, but his recent track record coming off back-to-backs isn’t stellar, either. In six appearances this season which took place with zero days’ rest, he averages 19.8 PPG, but his scoring tallies have decreased with each outing — he posted 31 and 28 points in two December games; 25, 19 and nine points in three January outings; and produced just seven points in his most recent back-to-back on February 5. I like him to stay under 19.5 points tonight given the split.
