The Portland Trail Blazers chased from beyond all night long in a 133-109 loss at Minnesota on Wednesday night.
Scoot Henderson, Jrue Holiday and Jerami Grant combined to sink 3-pointers on three straight trips down the floor to pull the Blazers within 54-49 late in the first half, but that was as close as Portland would get.
Minnesota expanded its lead to as many as 28 points in the fourth quarter.
Holiday led Portland with 23 points, while Henderson finished with 18 points off the bench. Minnesota forced 25 turnovers in the game and allowed Portland only five fastbreak points.
Portland (26-29) sits 10th in the Western Conference, still 4.5 games ahead of Memphis in the race for the final play-in spot.
The Trail Blazers play at Utah at 6 p.m. Thursday.
