The Dallas Mavericks will look to snap an eight-game losing streak and get their first win in the month of February when they head to Los Angeles to take on the Lakers on Thursday night.
It will be the last game before the All-Star break for both teams, so both teams will get some rest after the matchup.Â
Cooper Flagg ruled out vs. Lakers with left midfoot sprainÂ
Unfortunately for the Mavericks, they’ll be without star rookie Cooper Flagg for the game against the Lakers. Flagg has been ruled out of the contest due to a due to a left midfoot sprain.Â
The injury will also force Flagg, the current favorite to win Rookie of the Year, to miss the Rising Stars Game at All-Star Weekend, which is a bummer for fans everywhere who were excited to see him perform on that special stage.Â
On the season, Flagg has played in 49 games for the Mavericks and posted averages of 20.4 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.2 steals per performance.Â
The Mavericks won’t be the only team missing a key contributor for the game. Lakers star guard Luka Doncic has also been ruled out due to a hamstring strain. It will be the fourth consecutive game missed by Doncic due to the injury.Â
