Chicago Bulls guard Anfernee Simons said he enjoyed his time with the Celtics and would definitely not turn down an opportunity to return to Boston in the future.

After being traded by the Boston Celtics at the trade deadline, 26-year-old guard Anfernee Simons faced his former team for the first time in Boston as a member of the Chicago Bulls.

The Bulls ended up losing the game on Wednesday night, 105–124, while Simons finished with a quiet 7 points and 5 rebounds in 28 minutes of action.

When asked before the game whether he would consider a return to Boston after being traded, Simons said it’s definitely a possibility, noting that he enjoyed his time in Boston and built some great relationships along the way.

“For sure. Obviously, got to finish our season here first and then see what happens there. But, you know, for sure down the line,” Simons said, via CLNS Media. “Like I said, I enjoyed my time here and built great relationships here. And so, yeah, I see it for sure.”

Simons was traded to the Celtics from the Portland Trail Blazers in the offseason for Jrue Holiday.

In his 49 games with the Celtics this season, Simons averaged 14.2 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game.
