WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW (5-17, 1-10 CAA) hosts a pair of games this weekend, beginning on Friday with North Carolina A&T (9-13, 4-7 CAA) at 7 p.m. Homecoming weekend concludes with the Seahawks taking on longtime rival Campbell (15-9, 8-3 CAA) on Sunday at 2 p.m.
Mary Ferrito, a senior guard, posted a career high with her 23-point outburst last week at the College of Charleston. She reached double digits for the third time in her last four games. Ferrito also knocked down a career-best six three-pointers in the game.
Rori Cox, a graduate guard, continues to shine, ranking among the conference leaders in scoring at 14.2 points per game and steals at a league-leading 2.7 swipes per outing.
The Aggies carry a stout defense into Friday’s game, allowing 62.2 points per game and posting a rebound margin of 4.4 rebounds per game.
Three NC A&T players are averaging double figures in scoring, with Chaniya Clark leading the way at 12.1 ppg. She’s also pacing the lineup by averaging 7.3 rebounds per night.
