Heat two-way guard named replacement for Rising Stars game - Hot Hot Hoops

Miami Heat two-way guard Jahmir Young was named a replacement for the 2026 Castrol Rising Stars game, the league announced Thursday. He will replace Chicago Bulls guard Mac McClung, who will miss the event with a calf injury.

Young, 25, is averaging 26.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 9.0 assists across 22 games with the Sioux Falls Skyforce. He’s shooting 45.1 percent from the floor, 34.0 percent from 3-point range (6.7 3PA) and 84.3 percent from the free-throw line, equating to a 58.3 true-shooting percentage.

The event is scheduled to be Friday, Feb. 13 at 9 p.m. EST on Peacock.

McClung was originally a replacement for Spurs guard David Jones Garcia, who suffered a season-ending ankle injury earlier this month. Now, Young will replace Jones on Team Austin (coached by former NBA vet Austin Rivers), where he’ll be teammates with Boston’s Ron Harper Jr., Toronto’s Alijah Martin and Los Angeles’ Yanic Konan Niederhauser, among others.

Young, who spent last year in the Bulls’ organization, has played in just 14 career games, including eight with the Heat this season. With Miami, Young’s totaled 17 points, four rebounds, six assists and one steal on 7-of-19 shooting.
