Utah Jazz forward Ace Bailey and Washington Wizards guard Bub Carrington have been named as injury replacements for Dallas Mavericks Rookie of the Year candidate and Washington Wizards big man Alex Sarr at this year’s Rising Stars Game.

Flagg is dealing with a left midfoot sprain, while Sarr has a right hamstring strain.

Fans will surely be disappointed that Flagg is missing out. The 19-year-old has been on an absolute tear of late, averaging 32 points per game over his last six contests. Overall he’s putting up 20.4 points, 6.6 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game, more than living up to the hype that made him the top overall pick.

He’ll be replaced by the 19-year-old Bailey, who is averaging a solid 11.6 points and 3.8 rebounds per game this season while shooting 34.3 percent from three.

Sarr, 20, has taken a nice step in his sophomore campaign, averaging 17.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and two blocks per game while shooting 49.6 percent from the field. He remains the centerpiece of the new-look Wizards.

He’ll be replaced by his teammate, the 20-year-old Carrington, who is putting up 10.2 points and 4.6 assists per game in his second season while shooting 39.3 percent from three.

A number of exciting rookies will highlight the event, including Philadelphia 76ers guard V.J. Edgecombe, Charlotte Hornets sharpshooter Kon Knueppel and San Antonio Spurs guard Dylan Harper, among others. Players like Stephon Castle and Reed Sheppard highlight the sophomores in action.
