In recent years, the Three-Point Contest has become the blockbuster event on All-Star Saturday. With an awesome group of participants this year, Charlotte Hornets rookie Kon Knueppel could become a solid favorite.

While it is a stacked field that involves two former winners in Devin Booker and Damian Lillard, Knueppel has cemented himself as one of the big names for this event. Considering this has six established All-Stars, that is significant for the rookie.

Reggie believes in Knueppel for the shootout

One of the people who has shown their belief in Knueppel for the Three-Point Contest is the legendary Reggie Miller. Before Stephen Curry and even Ray Allen, Miller was the best shooter of all time.

Even if he had an unorthodox jump shot, he was the deadliest shooter in the league’s history. He is still among the very best, which has led to his opinion about shooters still holding some weight.

Miller is now working for NBC Sports, the broadcaster that will cover All-Star Weekend. During their media call, Miller said that he believes Knueppel is among the favorites to win the contest alongside Lillard, a two-time winner.

That is a good sign for Knueppel because he is one of the best pure shooters in the league right now. Considering that he is only a rookie, that bodes well for his long-term future as well as the Hornets‘ future.

It will be a challenging run for Knueppel to win the shootout, but he is definitely a top-tier shooter. He is already practicing for the shootout, as seen on the Hornets’ social media pages, which could be a good sign for what is to come.
