It has been apparent for a long time that the outgoing personality of LeBron James would make him successful on TV. Not in the sense of doing postgame interviews, podcasts, and basketball coverage. But the forays outside, into movies and shows.
As a younger player in Cleveland, he made a guest appearance on My Wife & Kids. He alsoshowd up on The Simpsons, which can be seen here.
James also made cameos on Entourage, Ballers, and an extended movie appearance in Trainwreck as Bill Hader’s best friend.
Talking about the all-time leading scorer in the NBA who just put up a triple-double at 41 years of age, and yet this article is about his acting ability and personality. James has been extremely versatile in the media world, as he has continued to ascend even higher in NBA lore.
The first round pick from St. Vincent-St. Mary high school in 2003 continues to impress. Let’s talk about his latest project.
LeBron James Appears on Popular Disney Show
LeBron James starred in Space Jam: A New Legacy in 2021, and now, he’s been animated once again. Now, he made a Cartoonified appearance on popular Disney show Phineas & Ferb.
James appeared in a two-minute segment. His goal was to ascend all the way towards outer space to make a 300-point field goal, which he attempted to do with the help of his daughter, Zhuri.
The show just recently released the second half of its fifth season. This comes more than 10 years after the last episodes had aired. With other celebrity appearances including Stan Lee (RIP), The Avengers, Megan Rapinoe, Kelly Clarkson, and Michael Bublé, the show has been able to prove its versatility.
First hitting the airwaves in 2007, James is the first basketball player to make an appearance. While no mentions were made of Taco Tuesday, he did make a Space Jam callback, as a reply to Zhuri, who said “We’re cartoons!” James replied with “Why does this keep happening to me?”
It’s great to see this type of crossover, as James joins the ranks of players including Chris Bosh, Dwight Howard, Deron Williams, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Love as NBA guys to appear in shows.
That’s just a few of many.
Of course, if a player could score that many points that quickly, Kevin Durant would be all over that. Trying to move just a little bit higher on the all-time scoring list.
Plenty more media spots and TV appearance should be in James’ future.
LeBron James Set for 22nd Consecutive All-Star Game
Following his Phineas & Ferb appearance, LeBron James is now off to play in his 22nd consecutive All-Star Game. This will be his first appearance not as a starter, but the King will still find himself on the floor.
In the new format, three teams will be competing, two of them comprised of American players, and the other being international guys.
James has been able to shake a slow start to find his rhythm and guide the Lakers to some key victories. LA is sitting as the #5 seed in the West heading into the All-Star break, with a lot more wins likely to follow suit upon return.
Keep an eye out for James in some other shows and movies. He’s got a hand in everything.
