The Portland Trail Blazers have reached the NBA All-Star break — presenting us all with a pause for reflection on the 2025-26 NBA season.
The Blazers enter the break with a 27-29 record, firmly in the Western Conference Play-In picture as the No. 9 seed with 26 games left. They’ve persevered through a litany of injuries, rough patches and the early-season FBI arrest of their head coach to get to this relatively stable spot in the standings.
The defense isn’t as dominant as preseason expectations advertised, and sometimes the offense turns the ball over so much it makes you yell, Hey! Stop that, please. But the hot streaks — like a 6-2 start to the season and a 9-2 start to January — have been more than tantalizing, dotted with impressive wins over tough competition. Portland has seen key development from young players like Donovan Clingan and inspiring impact from two-way guys Sidy Cissoko and Caleb Love. Maybe most important, the Blazers have found their first All-Star since Damian Lillard in do-it-all point-forward Deni Avdija.
So, how are you feeling about the Blazers’ season as we reach the All-Star break?
Has it been a success? A failure? What developments have you excited and what about this team leaves something to be desired?
