NBA legend Chris Bosh recently gave his honest reaction of holding anger towards LeBron James for leaving the Miami Heat in 2014. The “big three” Heat team became the talk of the league by having James, Bosh and Dwyane Wade become the top star-studded superteam in NBA history up to that point. However, the team ended after LeBron’s four-year contract expired and he joined the Cleveland Cavaliers in free agency.

Bosh revealed that he was legitimately angry about James not giving them a heads up, via the All the Smoke Podcast:

“I thought it was BS. I took offense to it to be honest. I’m a competitor and when you go back to the locker room and Bron ain’t in that chair and everybody is looking at you and DWade for that 25 points, it’s like damn, man. S**t my knee hurts. I was upset, it took months to get over it.“

All three players planned their previous move to Miami as a group and understood they’d become hated within the NBA. Most non-Heat fans treated Miami as the top villains to make the four NBA Finals runs quite intense. Bosh and Wade were left alone with a weaker supporting staff once LeBron made his next move.

LeBron Didn’t Inform Wade & Bosh

Another strong statement from Bosh in the interview focused on LeBron not being open with his teammates about his upcoming move. James’ free agency was the talk of the league, but LeBron stayed silent all season with both the media and his teammates in the locker room.

Bosh claimed that he found out ten minutes before the news was announced of James signing a contract to return to Cleveland. Miami was in a tough spot with few free agents there, let alone finding one to replace the best player in the entire league.

Wade and Bosh both had the carry the Heat roster for the next few seasons, but they failed to ever contend for another title. Injuries ruined the rest of their Miami tenure, and the 2013 NBA Championship is still their most recent title over a decade later.

LeBron Made Right Decision For Career

The 2014 NBA Finals was the last run for LeBron in Miami when the “big three” fell short against the San Antonio Spurs. A decisive 4-1 series elimination and Wade’s injuries starting to lessen his play likely provided the final factors for James to make a move.

NBA fans also started treating LeBron like a fan favorite again after he became the most hated player in many years during his Miami tenure. James set himself up to have a beloved run in Cleveland with a new big three including the younger Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love.

Bosh felt angry in the moment that he was blindsided by the news drastically changing his career within ten minutes. The two have sense made up and are clearly on good terms today. However, Bosh has made it clear that he wishes LeBron handled that situation differently and trusted him more to share the news ahead of time.
