Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh and offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel attended the Lakers’ matchup with the Mavericks Thursday night.
Harbaugh and McDaniel sat court side for the Lakers’ 124-104 victory over the Mavericks for their last game ahead of All-Star Weekend, which is also in LA this year.
The stakes are high for Harbaugh’s third season as the Chargers head coach, but the offense is in good hands with McDaniel at the helm.
McDaniel was one of the best offensive-minds available this offseason and the Chargers landed the highly-touted coach.
“There was a lot that I found very attractive,” McDaniel said of the organization at his introductory press conference. “I was very fortunate to have some opportunities. I think it started with Coach Harbaugh. Then to be a part of an organization that has a legacy, talking about Sid [Gillman] and Air Coryell, that’s super attractive, too.

“Got a quarterback who I’ve always admired,” McDaniel added. “A lot of young players, great situation for me and my family to go to the next chapter, which we’re very excited about.”
What’s Next for the Chargers This Offseason?
The Chargers have a ton of cap space to spend in free agency, which is set to begin in less than a month. It remains unclear where the Chargers will look to spend money, but many insiders have suggested the team should focus on bolstering the offensive line.
While Herbert had a 66.1 completion percentage last season, his stat line could improve immensely with a healthy and strengthened O-line.
