The fifth annual NBA HBCU Classic ended in absolutely stunning fashion. The North Carolina A&T Aggies emerge victorious after trailing for nearly the entire game, thanks to a dramatic and-one from Trent Middleton Jr. with five seconds remaining.
A last-second floater by Hampton guard Jalyke Gaines-Wyatt spun around every part of the rim before ultimately falling out as the buzzer sounded. Hampton’s six-point lead with 59 seconds remaining disappeared thanks to the Aggies’ full-court pressure generating three consecutive turnovers.

All in all, the night was a success for Historically Black Colleges & Universities across the country. Aside from the game, there was a battle of the bands halftime show, representation from the Divine Nine Greek organizations, and a roll call of notable alumni from both Universities.
The partnership provides a snapshot of HBCU culture for the masses who may not have been exposed otherwise, all topped off by a riveting finish to the game itself.

Just when it looked as if Hampton would cruise to the finish line, North Carolina A&T has stormed back to tie the game at 68 with just 30 seconds remaining.
