Former Wisconsin Badger Micah Potter delivered the best performance of his NBA career on Wednesday night.
Potter played 26 minutes off the bench in the Indiana Pacers‘ 115-110 win over the Brooklyn Nets. He recorded a career-high 19 points, 12 rebounds, one assist, one steal and two blocks, while shooting 6-of-8 from the floor, 1-of-2 from 3 and 6-of-8 from the free-throw line.
The former Badger signed with the Pacers in late December. He has appeared in 22 games for the team, starting three, averaging 7.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 0.4 steals. He’s also averaging 46.4% from the floor, 37.5% from 3 and 88.1% from the charity stripe.
The season has been by far the best of Potter’s five-year NBA career. The former Badger is averaging a career-high in points (1.7), rebounds (4.3) and assists (1.5). He has carved a regular place in the Pacers’ bench rotation, totaling more than 25 minutes in each of the last three games.
Potter excelled during his two years helping to lead the Badgers. He averaged 10.1 points and 6.2 rebounds as a junior in 2020-21 and delivered 12.5 points and 5.9 rebounds as a senior the following year. While it took some time, the former Badger is starting to make his mark at the professional level.
