NBA All-Star 2026 kicks off on Saturday with Media Day at 1:30 p.m. ET, followed by a trio of events, including the 3-point contest, shooting stars event and the slam dunk contest, starting at 5 p.m. ET.

First up is the 3-point contest, which marks the first time Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard takes the court in an official capacity this season as he continues to rehab an Achilles injury. He’s seeking his third 3-point contest title after back-to-back wins in 2023 and 2024.

In addition to Lillard, the other participants are: Donovan Mitchell (Cleveland Cavaliers), Devin Booker (Phoenix Suns), Kon Knueppel (Charlotte Hornets), Tyrese Maxey (Philadelphia 76ers), Jamal Murray (Denver Nuggets), Bobby Portis Jr. (Milwaukee Bucks) and Norman Powell (Miami Heat).

Mitchell currently leads the league with 185 3-pointers made this year, while rookie Knueppel ranks second with 183.

Then comes the shooting stars contest, where four teams consisting of two current NBA players and one NBA legend compete in two rounds, scoring points while rotating through different shooting locations around the court.

Last is the slam dunk contest, where the four participants will compete in a two-round showdown with judges scoring each jump. In the first round, all four participants will attempt two dunks, with two advancing to the final round. In the second round, each finalist will attempt two dunks, and the highest-scoring of the two will win it all.

Notably, this year’s rotation won’t include Mac McClung, who won his third consecutive Slam Dunk Contest victory last year and is currently on a two-way contract with the Chicago Bulls.

Only 17 points for the Sixers star, and that means Kon Knueppel is offically advancing with only two competitors left.

The tallest member of the field has broken out as an efficient 3-point shooter this year, but he misses too many money balls and finishes with only 15 points. The top three remains Kon Knueppel, Donovan Mitchell and Norman Powell.

Receiving chants from the Intuit Dome crowd (he’s still well-liked here from his Clippers days), Powell starts slow but recovers enough to get 23 points. However, he lost a big opportunity by running out of time during his money rack.

That’s enough to eliminate Jamal Murray.

The NBA is trying yet again to make its All-Star Game competitive and compelling by changing the format for the second consecutive year. This time, it’s USA vs. World in a three-team, round-robin tournament. Two USA teams and one World team will match up in four three-minutes games.

Los Angeles Clippers star Kawhi Leonard is not a fan of the change.

“WIth the teams split up, you don’t really know who you’re playing with or what the score is, “ Leonard told reporters. “I rather it just be East and West and just go out there and compete and see what the outcome is.”

Only 18 points for the Nuggets’ first-time All-Star, so he’s going to need some help.

Wearing the jersey of teammate Jaylon Tyson, the Cavaliers star posts another strong score with 24. Pressure’s on for the rest of the field.

That’s 27 points for the Charlotte Hornets rookie a day after his Rising Stars appearance. Hard to see that not being enough to advance.

NBA commissioner Adam Silver was asked about Giannis Antetokounmpo’s recent deal with prediction market company Kalshi. He said the league views prediction markets the same as sports betting companies.

“We need a better handle on all the activity happening out there,” he said.

Asked about the investigation into the Los Angeles Clippers’ alleged side deal with Kawhi Leonard and sustainability company Aspiration, NBA commissioner Adam Silver said no decision has been reached. However, he also acknowledged that he’s not involved in the daily proceedings of the investigation, being conducted by an outside firm.

Leonard allegedly received $28 million from Aspiration in an endorsement deal, though he provided no services. The deal appeared to be an effort to circumvent the NBA’s salary cap as Leonard signed a four-year, $176 million extension with the Clippers.

The NBA board of governors is expected to “take the next steps” on expansion during its March meetings, according to Adam Silver. The meetings will likely determine which ownership groups and markets could potentially buy a team.

Silver added that relocating a team to a different market is not considered an option.
