The Portland Trail Blazers pulled away in the second half to knock off Utah 135-119 on Thursday night.
The game featured seven lead changes, but none after Jrue Holiday’s three-point play put Portland ahead to stay early in the third quarter.
Caleb Love sank a pair of 3s, sandwiched around a putback two by Donovan Clingan, to stretch the margin to 17 points before the quarter was done.
“We guarded, we took care of the ball, and we hit shots,” Clingan said.
Holiday led the Blazers with 31 points, while Clingan finished with 23 points and 18 rebounds to go along with a career-high seven assists.
Portland held a 13-rebound edge on the boards, which resulted in a 23-12 advantage in second-chance points.
Portland (27-29) returns to action after the All-Star break with a home game Friday, Feb. 20, against Denver.
