LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers played in his 22nd NBA All-Star Game.

After Anthony Edwards took home the 2026 NBA All-Star MVP Kobe Bryant trophy, LeBron James delivered a message for the Minnesota Timberwolves superstar. Edwards stole the show for Team USA Stars, leading them to a win over Team USA Stripes in the final.

In a post by the NBA on their social media accounts, James made his feelings clear about Edwards and his performance in the All-Star Game.

“Love Ant-Man,” James said. “Everything about him. On the court, off the court. Happy for him, first of many All-Star MVPs for him. I love Ant, he’s got a fan in me and a friend in me for life.”

Edwards had 13 points in Team Stars’ 37-35 overtime win over Team World. He followed it up with 11 points and three rebounds in their 42-40 loss to Team Stripes in the second game.

In the final, the Timberwolves superstar put up eight points, four rebounds and two assists, as Team Stars dominated Team Stripes to earn the 47-21 victory.

James, on the other hand, had a very quiet night with an accumulated stats of 15 points, seven rebounds and five assists.

James Remains Unsure About Retirement

In his pregame media availability on Sunday, LeBron James answered questions about his future. There were rumblings that James might announce that he will retire at the end of the season, but the Los Angeles Lakers superstar remains unsure about his future.

“Yeah, I mean, I want to live,” James said, according to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin. “When I know, you guys will know. I don’t know. I have no idea. I just want to live, that’s all.”

While it wasn’t surprising that James hadn’t made a decision, it’s something that might linger for the rest of the season. The Lakers are entering a crucial part of the campaign, barely clinging to the fifth spot in the West at 33-21.

The Phoenix Suns are just 1.5 games behind in the standings, which means the purple and gold franchise could fall to the play-in spots.

Edwards Might Cry Once LeBron Retires

Anthony Edwards wasn’t ashamed to admit that he might shed a tear or two once LeBron James retires. Edwards confessed at Saturday’s pregame media availability, which was full of speculation about James’ future.

“Am I going to shed a tear? I might cry a little bit,” Edwards said.

The Minnesota Timberwolves superstar has been touted as the next face of the NBA once James finally ends his career. Edwards is open to the challenge of carrying the league, but he remains unsure about the title. He even passed it up to Victor Wembanyama to carry the torch for the next generation.

“Man, them folks got Victor Wembanyama. That’s what they got going on. They got Wemby. They’ll be all right,” Edwards said.

Wembanyama isn’t shying away from the responsibility of becoming the face of the NBA. He’s even willing to learn from James in that regard, planning to have a sit-down with the four-time MVP soon.

The San Antonio Spurs big man had the league buzzing early in the season, but injuries have slowed him down.
