The Wizards will host Hoops & Hounds Night on Feb. 22 where fans and their dogs can enjoy a game and other activities.

WASHINGTON — You may not be able to bring your dog everywhere, but the Washington Wizards want you and your pup to visit Capital One this weekend. The Wizards will host Hoops & Hounds Night presented by Brandywine Valley SPCA on Feb. 22, when the Charlotte Hornets visit Capital One Arena. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.

Last season, more than 150 dogs were welcomed into Capital One Arena for Hoops & Hounds night. Fans can once again purchase a special ticket here, which includes admission for both parent and pup. Tickets that are purchased through the link will also include a G-Wiz dog toy, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit Brandywine Valley SPCA.

“The Brandywine Valley SPCA is excited to partner with the Washington Wizards for this special Hoops and Hounds event,” said Adam Lamb, Brandywine Valley SPCA CEO. “When a team with such a deep-rooted connection to the District steps up in such a high-profile way, it does more than just shine a spotlight on our animals — it rallies the entire community to get involved in our lifesaving work and help elevate our mission to build a more compassionate city for people and their pets.”

Don’t have a furry campion yet? Brandywine Valley SPCA will also be on site on the 400-level concourse at sections 424-425 with adoptable dogs looking for their forever homes. Fans interested in adopting must be 18 or older and present a valid photo ID.

Hoops & Hounds Night ticket purchasers are encouraged to stop by the transformed Devils Backbone Lounge to enjoy special activities for both fans and their pups, including a doggy photo booth, DIY paw prints, a make-your-own pup cup station, and a “my first game” certificate. Fans who stop by can also receive a co-branded Wizards collapsible dog bowl, while supplies last.

Throughout the night, fans and their furry companions will have designed dog-friendly sections on the 400-level concourse in sections 422-423 and sections 427-428. All pets must remain in these areas for the duration of the game and have a signed waiver prior to attending. Dogs may also be brought to the roped-off concourse areas and to the dog zone and relief stations.
