All-Star weekend concluded Sunday with Team Stars defeating Team Stripes in the finale.

Philadelphia 76ers star Tyrese Maxey led Team Stars in scoring during the final game, however lost out on MVP honors to Anthony Edwards.

Maxey’s hustle on both ends of the floor made him a huge difference-maker though, as he scored nine points in nine minutes to go along with two rebounds, one assist and three steals.

Following the performance, Maxey spoke on his second career All-Star appearance (first in 2024) and what it meant to return to one of the NBA’s biggest stages.

“I feel a lot less out of place (…) [Two years ago, I] was nervous. It’s your first time. You don’t know when to talk, when not to talk. Now I walk into the locker room of my team, I was the second-oldest. I played against those guys growing up as kids, and it was really fun to be in the locker room.”

Performing at an All-Star level is something Maxey has become all too familiar with this season. In the 2025-26 season, Maxey is averaging a career-high 28.9 points, sixth-highest in the league. He’s also averaging career-highs in assists (6.8), rebounds (4.1) and steals per game (2).

Currently, the 76ers sit sixth in the Eastern Conference standings. Although they’ve seen encouraging performances from both Joel Embiid and rookie VJ Edgecombe, Philadelphia will certainly be leaning on Maxey in hopes of making a deep playoff run.

Maxey and the 76ers will return to action Feb. 19 against the Atlanta Hawks.
