Houston is on a run of six straight wins and has a 17-1 record over its past 18 contests, jumping to No. 2 in the most recent AP poll after posting solid wins over Utah (66-52) and Kansas State (78-64) last week. The Cyclones are in the midst of a similar three-game run that they kicked off with a momentous home win over then-No. 9 Kansas (74-56) on Saturday. That victory was a rebound performance from a 62-55 loss as 7.5-point favorites at TCU, with five Cyclones scoring in double figures against the Jayhawks and a tight defense that allowed just 37% shooting and forced 13 turnovers.
