Matt Caplan tied his season-high with 20 points as Summit defeated Watchung Hills 65-56 in Warren.

Summit (13-10) took control early, building a 17-10 lead after the first quarter and maintaining a seven-point advantage at halftime. The Hilltoppers matched Watchung Hills point-for-point in the third quarter before pulling away in the fourth.

Theodore Mixon contributed 18 points and grabbed 6 rebounds for Summit, while also recording a team-high 4 steals. Thatcher Rush added 14 points, and John Baker dominated the paint with 8 rebounds and 4 blocks.

Watchung Hills (5-16) was led by Brady Simo, who scored 20 points and registered a career-high 5 steals along with 6 assists. Timmy Robertson nearly matched him with 19 points, including four 3-pointers.

Despite a strong effort from Dillon Nunes, who pulled down a game-high 9 rebounds for Watchung Hills, Summit’s balanced attack and defensive presence proved too much.

Summit hosts Randolph at 7 p.m. on Feb. 19. Watchung Hills hosts Voorhees at 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 17.
