The New York Knicks saw their rival make multiple roster moves on Monday. One of them stood out to Josh Hart.
The veteran forward took to the social media platform X to react to the news that the Sixers are on pace to sign the veteran guard, Cam Payne. It was a quick two-word reaction, simply showing excitement for the return of his former teammate.

The veteran guard is joining Hart’s direct rival, but the Knicks’ sharpshooter is simply happy to see one of his former teammates back in the US, after he spent some time playing in the Euroleague.
Payne, 31, joined the Knicks during the 2024 NBA offseason. He signed with the team on a one-year deal. The veteran ended up appearing in a career-high 72 games, seeing the court for 15.1 minutes per game. He averaged 6.9 points while shooting 36 percent from three.
Before making it to the Knicks, Payne had a 31-game run with the Sixers. He landed in Philly at the 2024 trade deadline, after a quick run with the Milwaukee Bucks.
Ahead of the 2025-2026 NBA season, Payne spent the preseason with the Indiana Pacers. He ended up getting cut before the regular season opener. A few months later, he signed with a Serbian club. The Sixers helped Payne strike a buyout this week. Now, he’s on pace to sign with the 76ers.
With four games between the Sixers and the Knicks in the bag, Payne won’t face his most recent former team this year, unless a Philly-NY playoff series is in store in the spring.
