Courtside moment at All-Star Game goes viral

During the All-Star festivities, Obama was seen grabbing a basketball near the sideline while seated courtside. The interaction became one of the lighter highlights from the event.

Obama has maintained a visible connection to basketball for years, regularly attending games and hosting pickup sessions during his time in office. His appearance at the showcase reinforced that reputation.

The video circulated widely across social platforms, prompting reactions from fans. Obama soon addressed the clip directly.

Obama invites public to ‘Home Court’ opening

In an Instagram post following the viral moment, Obama acknowledged the play and referenced the upcoming opening of the Obama Presidential Center. He used the opportunity to welcome visitors.

“About the extent of my game these days,” Obama posted. “But everybody’s welcome at Home Court when we open the Obama Presidential Center this June.”

The presidential center will include a full-length NBA-style basketball court called Home Court. Obama’s message made clear that the space will be open to the public.

The courtside clip became more than a fleeting All-Star moment, serving as a lead-in to the center’s June debut and its basketball-focused feature.
