PHOENIX — The Phoenix Suns opened their doors to a young fan through Make-A-Wish Arizona with support from the club’s foundation.

Josue, the fan who received the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, had his wish granted when the Suns took on the Golden State Warriors on Feb. 5.

Through the Phoenix Suns and Phoenix Mercury Foundation, Josue was not just invited to attend the game — he also enjoyed a shopping spree, visited the team’s locker room and even participated in the Suns’ pregame warmups, most notably alongside guard Dillon Brooks.

When asked how it felt to be alongside some of his favorite players, Josue has two words.

“Felt magical,” he said in a video from the team’s X account.

While it was one meeting, it showcased the partnership between the Suns and local community groups, offering a moment that transcends basketball.

By granting Josue’s wish, the organization highlighted themes of hope, normalcy and connection for children who are fighting serious medical challenges. It amplifies the importance of continuing to bring awareness to these challenges and the families navigating them.

Make-A-Wish doesn’t operate solely in the desert; the organization has chapters across the country. Professional sports teams collaborating on sports-related wishes has become critical to fulfilling many of those requests. Phoenix’s decision to spotlight Josue reflects the organization’s commitment to continuing to prioritize and visibly support community engagement.

Games are played and teams move on from them, but moments like these will always be remembered by the children and their families as they recall how organizations helped fulfill their wishes.
