The Arizona Wildcats (23-2) dropped to No. 4 in the latest Associated Press Top 25 after losing two straight games and look to get back on track when they host the No. 23 BYU Cougars (19-6) at the McKale Center on Wednesday night.

BYU comes off a costly 90-86 overtime win over visiting Colorado on Saturday, in which senior guard Richie Saunders was lost for the season with a torn ACL just 45 seconds into the game. Aleksej Kostić knocked down a 3-pointer with 1:21 remaining in overtime to put the Cougars up for good, while Robert Wright III went off for 39 points, and AJ Dybantsa added 20 points, 13 rebounds, eight assists, and three steals. 

Arizona’s 15-game homecourt winning streak ended on Saturday night with a 78-75 overtime loss to visiting then-No. 16 Texas Tech. Ivan Kharchenkov forced overtime, hitting two free throws with 16 seconds left, but the Wildcats never led in the extra session. Brayden Burries and Tobe Awaka scored 16 points apiece, with Awaka also pulling down 12 rebounds. Kharchenkov finished with 13 points, Jayden Bradley added 11, and Motiejus Krivas went for 10 points and 11 boards.

The Wildcats can secure a season sweep after an 86-83 win at BYU on Jan. 26 and lead the all-time series 22-20. Buries averages 15.7 points for Arizona, with Koa Peat getting 13.8 points per game and Awaka posting 10.0 points and 9.7 rebounds a night. Dybantsa leads the nation with an average of 24.4 points for the Cougars, Wright scores 18.7 points per game, and Keba Keita snares 7.1 boards per outing.
