Allen High School’s Tyrese Martin is expected to sign a two-way deal with the Philadelphia 76ers, according to multiple media reports including Derek Bodner of PHYL Sports.

Martin, who was drafted 51st overall by the Golden State Warriors in the 2022 NBA Draft and immediately traded to the Atlanta Hawks, was waived by the Brooklyn Nets earlier this month.

A two-way contract allows a player to appear in games for both an NBA team and its G League affiliate. If a player is on the NBA team’s active roster for more than 50 games in a season, his contract must be upgraded to a standard NBA deal.

The Delaware Blue Coats are the Sixers’ G League affiliate.

Martin appeared in 97 games over the last two seasons for Brooklyn. The 26-year-old averaged 7.3 points and 2.9 rebounds in 37 appearances (six starts) this season.

The Allentown product started his college career at Rhode Island before transferring to Connecticut. He scored 1,271 points and collected 767 rebounds between his two Division I stops.

Martin tallied 1,120 points during his career at Allen and was named Eastern Pennsylvania Conference Most Valuable Player as a senior in 2017.
