Once having occupied the Oval Office doesn’t spare you from being on the receiving end of trash talk from Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards.

Former President Barack Obama chatted with Detroit Pistons head coach J.B. Bickerstaff at NBA All-Star Weekend. During the conversation, Obama said he “wore [Edwards] out” when they faced off a day earlier.

“Nah, he didn’t wear me out,” Edwards responded. “He did aight for an old man.”

The 24-year-old’s swagger is a defining characteristic of his game. He famously said in the Starting 5 Netflix series that “I do not look up to anybody in the league right now currently.”

President or not, Edwards was never going to let Obama’s lighthearted comment go unanswered.

The four-time All-Star also asserted he would “put on a show” for the retired politician and did just that. He was named the All-Star Game MVP after helping the USA Stars squad claim victory in the championship game.
