Douglas and Carson High School boys basketball teams both had a player earn first team all-league honors for their play this winter.
Tiger senior Trent Ipsen led the way for area athletes, earning a spot on both the Class 4A North all-region first team and the Sierra League all-league first team.
Ipsen ended the season putting together 15.5 points per game along with 4.8 rebounds per contest and 3.2 assists. He also swiped an average of 2.7 steals per game, too.
For the Senators, sophomore Gabe Borst was selected to the Class 4A North Sierra League all-league first team after an excellent season at guard.
Borst posted 16.8 points per game, which led the Senators, while grabbing 2.8 rebounds per contest. He also averaged two assists and 1.4 steals per game.
Carson High School head coach Ty Golden was named Coach of the Year in the Sierra League.
The Senators put together a 10-14 record this season, nearly grabbing the high water mark for a single season (11) in the program in the last decade.
Carson also had three more all-league selections along with Borst. Â

SECOND TEAM AND HONORABLE MENTION
Borst’s co-pilot at the point, Tre’Von Reddick, was a second team all-league selection as well.
Reddick, who is also a sophomore, scored an average of 10.3 points per game and led the Senators with 2.4 steals per game. He also grabbed 3.1 rebounds per tilt.
Douglas’ Noah Coyne was a second team all-league choice, contributing 9.9 points per game with the Tigers.
The outgoing senior led the squad in average rebounds per game with 5.2 and passed out 2.5 assists per contest.
The final two selections for the all-league squads came from the Senators in Kylan Jackson and Isaac Chambers.
Both seniors were chosen as honorable mention all-league selections.
Jackson averaged 8.4 points per game and led Carson with 95 rebounds.
Chambers put together an additional 7.7 points per game and finished the season as Carson’s leading passer with 54 total assists.
