Cooper Flagg set another record, this time at the auction house.
Flagg’s game-worn Mavericks jersey from his NBA debut against the Spurs on Oct. 22 was privately sold for $1 million, the highest publicly recorded price for a jersey sold through NBA Auctions, Sotheby’s announced Thursday.
The previous record was from Victor Wembanyama’s jersey from his NBA debut in Nov. 2023, which was sold for $762,000.
Flagg struggled to find his footing in his NBA debut, shooting 4-of-13 from the floor, but still managed to post a 10-point, 10-rebound double-double.

Since then, Flagg has found his footing. He leads all rookies in scoring, averaging 20.4 points per game, and is top five in his class in rebounds (6.6), assists (4.1) and steals (1.2).
Flagg scored a career-high 49 points against the Charlotte Hornets last month, which set the record for the most points by a teenager in NBA history.
Flagg has swept all the NBA’s Rookie of the Month awards thus far through the season.
