Much like his new WVU teammate Treysen Eaglestaff, Brenen Lorient has withdrawn from the NBA Draft, per CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein. Lorient entered the draft to test the waters and gain a professional evaluation, but as expected, will return to school and play for West Virginia after all.

Lorirent officially became a Mountaineer on April 14 when he completed his transfer from North Texas.

Lorient committed to follow Hodge to WVU on April 8, just two days after entering the transfer portal. He will come to West Virginia as a senior.

Lorient averaged 11.9 points and 4.9 rebounds per game as a junior this season. He was voted first-team All-AAC and was the American Athletic Conference Sixth Man of the Year.

He came off the bench in all 36 games during his lone season with the Mean Greene. He spent the first two years of his career playing a minor role and experiencing a Final Four run at Florida Atlantic. The Florida native shot 57.1% from the floor and averaged better than a block per game at UNT.

His best performance of the year was a 20-point, eight-rebound outing against Temple in January, setting season highs in both categories.

Lorient is the second member of WVU’s transfer class, joining UNC Wilmington’s Harlan Obioha, who committed earlier this week.
