The point guard signed a one-year contract worth $10.46 million with the Texas team.
They are at a cross roads about the future, and so is legendary point guard Paul.
The 40-year-old is a 12-time All-Star and one of the best to ever play his position.
He joined the Spurs last summer in a part to help develop French superstar Victor Wembanyama.
And that mentorship has brought another team into the mix for the former Phoenix Suns star.
According to Hoops Wire’s Sam Amico, the Portland Trail Blazers are looking at signing Paul.
The 40-year-old would help mentor 21-year-old rising star Scoot Henderson.
Henderson was the third overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.
Paul is yet to commit to playing in the 2025-26 season.
The San Antonio Spurs are at a crossroads with Gregg Popovich no longer their head coach.

Popovich suffered a stroke at the team’s arena in November and didn’t return to the side line.
He has taken up a presidency role at the franchise having won five NBA titles as coach.
Wembanyama also missed the end of the season after the team found blood clots in his shoulder.
Paul addressed his NBA future in an interview with Anscape before he turned 40.
He said, “I’m going to keep playing, I think.

“At the end of every season, I evaluate everything.
“Evaluate playing. Evaluate how my body feels.
“But the more years that go by, it’s more conversations with my family, with my kids.
“They have a lot of say so.
“They got a lot of input.”
