The NBA Draft Lottery will take place on Monday, May 12th. The Portland Trail Blazers hold the 10th best odds in the drawing, a 3.7% chance of coming away with the number one pick.
The Blazers will need a little bit of luck to reach that lofty perch. Fortunately each team sends a representative to the drawing to be onstage as the picks are read out. According to Sean Highkin of The Rose Garden Report, Portland’s representative this season will be Toumani Camara.
Toumani Camara is going to be the Blazers’ onstage representative in Chicago at the draft lottery on May 12, I’m told.
Camara was a major part of Portland’s surprising late-season record. The second-year forward averaged 11.3 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.5 steals and earned himself a ninth place finish in Defensive Player of the Year voting and a 12th place finish in Most Improved Player voting.
Camara will follow Scoot Henderson and Brandon Roy, Portland’s 2024 and 2023 draft lottery representatives respectively, and the Blazers hope to make a jump into the top four.
Good luck, Toumani. Imagine clashing with Cooper Flagg every practice next year. Visualize, manifest, go.
