ABILENE, Texas – Concordia Texas put together strong stretches on the road Friday night, but a cold second quarter and McMurry’s late execution proved the difference in a 66–57 loss at Kimbrell Arena.
The Tornados opened well, shooting 40 percent in the first quarter and getting early sparks from Zoiey Jumawan and Kiyah Hatcher. A Sam Ising tip‑in in the final seconds gave CTX an 18–16 lead after the first quarter.
McMurry flipped the game in the second, holding CTX to just 2‑for‑20 shooting to build a 30–22 halftime edge. Concordia regrouped after the break, with Briann Warehime drilling a three at the 6:51 mark and Ising continuing to control the paint as CTX trimmed the deficit to single digits entering the fourth.
The Tornados made multiple pushes late, but McMurry answered with second‑chance points and free throws to close it out.
Warehime led CTX with 13 points, while Ising added 10 points and nine rebounds. Holmes, Hatcher, and Tietjen each chipped in seven, and the bench contributed 24 points overall.
