Brendan O’Sullivan takes you through his preview, prediction and pick for today’s college basketball game between Louisville and Georgia Tech.

The regular season is concluding soon, so each conference matchup means so much more for the impending conference tournaments. Even the lopsided matchups have weight to them because a major upset is always possible.

Georgia Tech and Louisville will face off for the first time this season. The Cardinals are 22.5-point favorites on DraftKings Sportsbook. The game total is set at 163.5 points.

Here’s my prediction, preview and pick for Saturday’s Louisville vs. Georgia Tech matchup.

Louisville vs. Georgia Tech prediction, preview

Because the ACC is such a large conference, not every team plays each other twice. It creates situations like this where Georgia Tech is facing Louisville for the first and only time this year. The two squads are having vastly different seasons, thus leading to a 22.5-point spread.

The Cardinals are a top 25 ranked team, sitting at No. 21 entering this matchup. Meanwhile, the Yellow Jackets are in last place in the ACC with a 2-11 record. The non-conference schedule was very acceptable, however, as they went 9-4 before beginning ACC play. The likes of Duke, North Carolina and other top programs sent the Yellow Jackets spiraling to this point of their 2025-26 campaign.

Georgia Tech is on an eight-game losing streak and has lost 10 of its last 11 games. Heading on the road against Louisville will likely result in another loss. Because the Yellow Jackets are so far out of contention, this game isn’t as impactful for them. The Cardinals have all the pressure.

They’re massive home favorites and coming off a loss to SMU on Tuesday. A loss here, or even a close win, will certainly hurt Louisville’s rank and resume heading into March.

Louisville vs. Georgia Tech pick, best bet

Despite such a large spread, this game holds a lot of weight for the Cardinals. These seemingly “free victories” can be deadly as a loss or close win could taint the resume heading into March. That said, the Cardinals are likely aware of this. They’re not atop of the ACC, so every game is incredibly important for conference and NCAA Tournament positioning.

Louisville will win handily, but 22.5 points is still too steep. Georgia Tech has only lost by over 22.5 points three times this season.

Best bet: Georgia Tech +22.5 (-105)
