The Temple Owls women’s basketball defeated the Charlotte 49ers women’s basketball, 58-54, on Tuesday evening in Charlotte, snapping a three-game losing skid.
Savannah Curry set a new career high with 21 points, shooting 7-of-12 from the field and 3-of-4 from beyond the arc against Charlotte.
Jaleesa Molina recorded her seventh double-double of the season with 12 points (5-of-10 FG) and 13 rebounds in the 58-54 win over Charlotte.
Saniyah Craig added 14 points and six rebounds, marking her sixth straight double-digit scoring game and her sixth consecutive game with at least six rebounds.
The Owls head into their matchup against the Memphis Tigers women’s basketball after completing a season sweep of the Tigers last year. Temple earned a 74-66 home victory before securing a 91-74 win at Memphis.
Temple has not lost to Memphis since the 2023-24 season, when the Owls fell at home, 59-57, to the Tigers.

The Tigers are currently sitting 12th in the American with a conference record of 2-10 and are 8-17 overall. They are on a season-high five-game losing streak, and their last three games have been decided by five points or less.

Under New Leadership
Jaleesa Molina, Tristen Taylor, and Kaylah Turner have been named team captains for the 2025–26 season.
Taylor and Molina are the only returning starters from the 2024–25 roster.
Taylor averaged 6.7 points and a team-high 3.6 assists per game last season.
Molina averaged 7.4 points and seven rebounds per game while shooting 52.5% from the field.
Turner appeared in 31 games (two starts), averaging 10.1 points per game, third-highest on the team, while shooting 41% from the field and 37% from three-point range.
