With a successful trey in the 11:03 mark of the Hornets’ Friday matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers, Knueppel moved past Donovan Mitchell (187) for second place on the league’s all-time rookie three-pointers made list.
Knueppel finished the night with 33 points with seven triples, leading Charlotte’s 118-113 losing effort against Cleveland.
The 20-year-old now only trails Sacramento Kings forward Keegan Murray on the leaderboard. Murray sits atop the rankings with 206 triples during his rookie campaign in 2022-23.
Knueppel has been a major revelation for the Hornets this year. The No. 4 overall pick of last year’s NBA Draft is currently averaging 18.8 points (43.2 percent from three) with 5.5 rebounds and 3.6 assists.
