The Kings are giving a pair of youngsters a chance to prove themselves after losing Domantas Sabonis, Zach LaVine and De’Andre Hunter to season-ending surgeries.
Amid a frustrating 16-game losing streak, Sacramento announced Sunday that it has signed forward Patrick Baldwin Jr. to a two-way contract. ESPN’s Shams Charania also reported, citing sources, that the Kings are signing guard Killian Hayes to a 10-day contract.

Baldwin, 23, has appeared in 96 games since the Warriors selected him with the No. 28 overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft. The 7-footer has career averages of 3.7 points, 2.0 rebounds and 8.0 minutes and has played three games during the 2025-26 NBA season — two with the Los Angeles Clippers and one with the Washington Wizards.
In 18 appearances this season with the G League’s San Diego Clippers, Baldwin averaged 21.2 points, 8.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.2 steals.
Hayes, 24, also has struggled to find his footing in the league despite being the Detroit Pistons’ choice with the No. 7 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. The 6-foot-4 guard has career averages of 8.1 points, 5.2 assists, 2.9 rebounds and 26.1 minutes.
Hayes played 28 games with the G League’s Cleveland Charge this season and averaged 23.1 points, 8.3 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 1.7 steals.
Both Baldwin and Hayes are former first-round draft picks looking for an opportunity to compete at the highest level.
Considering the injury-riddled Kings have a 12-46 record through 58 games, giving the two journeyman a shot can’t hurt.
